Sclerotherapy.

This safe and minimally invasive procedure has a high success rate in the treatment of spider veins (thread veins) situated on the legs. 

Through a tiny needle, a solution (Fibrovein) is injected into the vein, causing it to collapse and break down over coming weeks. The procedure is not painful or, at most, a little uncomfortable and often can be treated in around 30 minutes. The autumn / winter months is the optimum time to have this treatment as we advise that firm support compression stockings are worn post procedure (this will not be as comfortable over summer months!). 

The number of treatments necessary can be dependent on a multitude of factors including overall health and severity of the condition. Following consultation and assessment in clinic, we are able to provide you with a much better idea as to what to expect by way of number of treatments and time frames. Please note that a test patch will need to be performed prior to commencing treatment.
